Windows & Doors Before & After in Westgate, FL
Anyone can tell you they do clean work. Seeing the difference between what was there and what’s there now, that’s where the truth lives. These are the projects we’ve done around Westgate and the surrounding communities. Old frames, fogged glass, doors that stuck, rooms that baked in the afternoon sun. Here’s what happened after Ed Winslow and our crew got involved.

Impact Window Replacement on a 1990s Concrete Block Home

The original aluminum frames had been sweating for years. Condensation between the panes meant the seals were shot, and the homeowner was running the AC on overtime just to keep the back bedrooms under 80 degrees. We pulled the old single-pane units out, reframed the openings, and set PGT impact windows rated for our wind zone. The glass is clear again, the afternoon heat stays outside where it belongs, and the homeowners don’t flinch anymore when the summer storm warnings start lighting up their phones.
Sliding Glass Door Swap After 20 Years of Sticking

The old sliding door had a track so worn the homeowners had to lift the door and shove it sideways with both hands. The rollers had disintegrated, and the lock was mostly for decoration. We installed a new impact-rated sliding glass door with a stainless steel track and smooth rollers, then adjusted it until it glided with two fingers. The homeowners told us later they didn’t realize how much noise the old door was letting in until the new one shut the room up completely.
Front Entry Door Replacement After Storm Water Intrusion

Every heavy rain, water found its way under the front door and puddled on the tile. The wood door had swelled and warped over the years, and the threshold had pulled away from the frame. We replaced the whole assembly with a Therma-Tru fiberglass door, new weatherstripping, and a properly sealed sill. No more towels on the floor when the afternoon storms roll through. The homeowners also noticed the front room stopped smelling like damp carpet after the next big downpour.
Energy-Efficient Window Package on a West-Facing Bedroom Wall

Three west-facing windows turned the master bedroom into a small sauna every afternoon from about 3 p.m. until sunset. The old single-pane glass was doing almost nothing to stop the solar gain. We installed energy-efficient units from ECO Window Systems with low-E coatings designed for south Florida exposure. The temperature difference in that bedroom was noticeable the first afternoon. The AC still runs, but it’s not fighting the sun to a draw anymore.
Custom Geometric Window Replacement Over a Stairwell

Homes in this part of Westgate have oddly shaped windows in places that make replacement tricky. This one, a trapezoid over a stairwell landing, had lost its seal and fogged over so badly you couldn’t see the palm tree outside. We measured the opening, ordered a custom unit to match the exact angle, and installed it without disturbing the surrounding stucco. The stairwell gets natural light again, and the landing doesn’t feel like a cave.
Garden Window Rebuild After Frame Rot

The garden window over the kitchen sink had been leaking slowly for years. By the time we got the call, the wood frame was soft enough to poke a screwdriver through, and one corner of the glass had a crack that had probably been there since hurricane season. We removed the entire assembly, repaired the rough opening, and installed a new garden window with proper flashing that actually sheds water. The homeowner can put her orchids back in there without worrying about them drowning from the top.
